When a foundation is formulated to feel like a favorite serum and look like “your skin, only better”, choosing the right shade should be just as seamless.
With 30 shades spanning fair, light, medium, tan, deep, and rich in a range of undertones, Suprême Bio-Complex Liquid Foundation offers plenty of options to get the perfect match. The secret is as simple as knowing what to look for.
Here, Gucci shares her expertise for taking the guesswork out of finding your liquid foundation.

IDENTIFY YOUR UNDERTONES
Most of us have an intuitive sense of where we fall in the ‘fair’ to ‘rich’ skin tone spectrum, but understanding your skin’s undertone is equally important when shopping for foundation.
“Undertones fall into three categories: neutral, cool, or warm,” explains Gucci. While it depends on how easily you tan, she adds, you can also look at the veins along the inside of your wrist, or try the T-shirt test: If your veins look bluish and white T-shirts flatter you more than cream, you’re likely cool. “If you burn easily, that’s also a sign,” she says.
If cream is more flattering than white, you tan easily, or your veins look green, you’re likely warm. And if you can pull off both? “Then I’d say you’re neutral.” For more undertone advice from Gucci, watch the full breakdown here.
CONSIDER ONE SHADE OR TWO
Your best foundation match may shift with the seasons: think slightly fairer in winter and slightly deeper in summer. Start with your skin tone today when shopping, but keep in mind that your perfect shade may need a tweak in five months time.
For mature skin shoppers in search of more youthful dimension, Gucci suggests a two shade foundation technique that subtly sculpts while mimicking natural tonality: one shade that’s a true skin tone match in the T-zone, and another that’s a half shade deeper around the perimeter of the face.

SWATCH IT IN STORE
If you feel most confident swatching a few shades on your skin, Gucci recommends stopping into a favorite store like Sephora for an in-person test. Swipe a shade or two onto your cheek and blend, then step into natural light for a final read. Better yet, once you’ve narrowed it down to a single shade, wear it around for a few hours before deciding—the most accurate match should disappear seamlessly into your skin. “Almost like you’ve been retouched,” says Gucci.
