Q: What's the best Lit Up Highlight for my skin tone?
"Lit Up really gives you this dewy, just-had-a-facial, impossibly fresh looking skin," says Gucci of the best-selling highlighter that's packed with hydrating, plant-powered actives. Holding up four gleaming sticks, she's ready to introduce a new limited-edition shade to the trio, Pârla.
But how to choose between all of the radiance-boosting options? While there are no set rules, Gucci recommends choosing a Lit Up based on skin tone and mood. There's the original Lit, a glassy iridescent shade that's great on fair to medium skin with its cool undertone, or Nectar, a glassy golden peach that's on the warmer side to complement all skin tones. Brulée is a bronze gold with a warm color payoff that leaves a different effect based on the wearer: a sun-kissed glow on fair to medium skin—use it on cheeks, lips, and lids!—and a soft traditional highlight on deeper tones.
And then there's the new Pârla shade, which launched last week in the new Gift Edition box, which brings Gucci's fresh take on festive makeup to life. "The shade name means pearl in Swedish, and it's flattering on all skin tones due to its perfect balance of warm and cool undertones," Gucci explains while tapping the translucent, oyster pearl highlight along her cheekbones, bridge of the nose, cupid's bow, lips, and lids. The result is a striking glassy, champagne glow that pairs equally well with natural makeup as it does a bold, Bordeaux lip.
