If the makeup routine of your 20s or 30s is ready for a reboot, Gucci knows just where to start.  “Your face is always evolving,” she says of the subtle changes that take place across each decade of life.  So when it comes to small tweaks with big impact, she says, there’s one ‘instant lift’ tool that tops her list: Blush.

“We all lose some volume in our face over time,” Gucci explains. “We can’t defy gravity, but we can work with it.” The easiest way to bring back the appearance of fullness and lift, she adds, has everything to do with your blush placement and color choice.  Here are the two simple tweaks that do the trick.

NEW Baby Cheeks Blush Stick in Fizz

PICK A POP OF COLOR

To add freshness to any skintone, Gucci suggests going for a brighter shade than you may have in the past. She loves Baby Cheeks Blush Stick in Poppet, a bold poppy pink that cuts sallowness and mimics a youthful flush when blended out to a sheer wearable wash.  Other ‘lifting’ shade favorites include Coquette (bright peachy pink), Fizz (watermelon flush), and Minette (luminous peach).

GO HIGHER ON THE CHEEKS

With time, cheekbones soften and the apples subtly shift. The easiest fix, says Gucci,  is a face-lifting tweak to your usual blush placement.    “I like to place blush a little higher on the cheeks,” she says of gravitating toward the tops of apples, and even bringing the sheerest touch of color up toward the lower orbital bone. “It brightens the whole face and distracts from darkness under the eyes,” explains Gucci.

To refine the look, diffuse the color with your fingers or Baby Blender brush, working upward and outward “to open the face” as you go. The final impact:  Bright, buoyant, and ready for the next chapter.
