Though Eleonore Toulin was once a regular on Chanel’s runways, the French model and Jacquemus muse traded couture for cooking in 2020. “During Covid, I questioned what it is that I really love,” says Toulin, who developed a passion for preparing homemade meals at a young age. Shortly after finishing an intensive course at the École Ducasse, she made things official: Toulin moved to Los Angeles, where she began to frequent the city’s bountiful farmer’s markets and perfect her now signature Mediterranean cuisine.
While Toulin has become known for piling the dining table high with plates of endive salad, salt-baked branzino, and yuzu pavlova for private clients and brands like Sézane, the fresh-faced chef—who swears by the inside-out benefits of organic produce—keeps her cosmetics cabinet to a minimum. “I was not allowed to wear makeup until I was 16,” she recalls of the less-is-more ideology that she’s maintained even 5,000 miles from her native Paris.
To this day, she prefers a hydrated, glowing complexion over any bold beauty statement. But, she happily adds, she has picked up one above-the-neck Californian characteristic: naturally sun-kissed skin, which she boosts with the help of Baby Cheeks Blush Stick in Dou Dou, dotted across her cheeks and the bridge of her nose. “I love this because it looks like I was outside—even if I was in the kitchen all day.”
