“I like to look like I’m on vacation, even when I’m working,” says Filomena Natoli of her endless summer glow. The Australian-based makeup artist can credit her Italian heritage for her olive skin tone, Botticelli curls, and aquamarine eyes, which combine for the effect of a woman perennially emerging from the ocean.

To round out her self-described “luxe surfer girl look,” Natoli’s morning routine consists simply of sunscreen, concealer, and bronzer—a streamlined trio that meets both her aesthetic instincts and the pace of her profession. Standing up to the elevated everyday criteria: a few multitasking products that can be applied on the go and last all day.

Bobbing beneath a cerulean seascape (hers from a recent holiday in Greece), she reaches for SunTone Bronzing Crème in Soleil Parfait 2, tapping her Blender II brush into both shades. A dab on the hollows of her cheeks brings “structure,” while a swirl of the lighter shade on the apples gives “nice, round fullness.” To mimic the heat of the sun, she brings the pigment up “quite high on the cheeks,” which emphasizes the blue-green color of her irises.

Natoli switches to a lip brush for more targeted swipes along the bridge of the nose and the borders of the lips, where its petite size provides contour-like dimension. “It goes on like lip liner,” she muses of the texture she describes as “the perfect midpoint between a powder and a cream. You can put it on unprepped skin, and it just glides on.”

Natoli keeps SunTone palette in her own makeup bag and one in her kit. “I love hacking things and multipurposing. The less I can do on myself in the morning, the better.” Vacation in a compact.
